How It Works- Flower Preservation
Flower Preservation
The total process takes around 2-3 months, this is explained in the steps below.
1. Choose your resin piece(s) and place your order through the website. There are 2 options for receiving your flowers.
Option 1- Local Pickup
You will receive an email confirmation of your order as will I at which point I will send a follow up email to schedule a local pickup of your flowers. I can meet up locally within a 15 mile radius of Camdenton, MO for no charge. Outside of the 15 mile radius I can arrange for a pickup with a $15 initial fee and $1/mile after that. I can only complete pickups Friday evenings through Sunday Evenings.
Option 2- Shipping
You are responsible for the cost to ship your flowers to me. Make sure to get a tracking number. If something happens with your package I can not assist if no tracking number is provided.
Specific step by step instructions will be sent once you complete your order. In order for your flowers to arrive in the best condition ship them within 24-48 hours of your event. Store your flowers in water until you are ready to ship. Use overnight shipping but do not check the box for signature required.
2. Your flowers will be inspected same day upon arrival and I will send you a confirmation email that we have received your flowers. From here the drying process will begin. Flowers can take anywhere from 2-3 weeks to dry depending on the type of flower.
3. Once the flowers are dry I will begin the design process and I will send you an email with a draft for your approval. Please note flowers are very delicate after the drying process so once the design is approved no changes can be made to the design.
4. After receiving approval on the design I will begin the casting process. The timing of this can vary significantly depending on your product choices and how busy I am. I will keep an update on the website for approximate turnaround times and you will be notified once I begin casting your piece(s). If I do not hear back on your approval of the design in 30 days I will move forward with the next step of the process.
5. The casting process can take anywhere from 3-4 weeks as I have to work in layers and let the resin cure between each layer. This is the most tedious part of the process so patience here is key.
6. The final step of demolding, sanding and polishing takes an additional 1-2 weeks. Once this is completed I will send you a picture of the final product, then it will need to fully cure for another 2 weeks before shipping or pickup is arranged.
7. Finally your item will be shipped or we will arrange to meet up locally for pickup of your beautifully preserved keepsake!
Cancellation Policy
-If you cancel your order before your flowers are received the full amount can be refunded.
-If flowers are received and the drying process is completed a 50% discount can be refunded
-If the casting process has begun no refund can be issued.
A couple things to keep in mind:
-Since each piece is made uniquely by hand no two pieces will look exactly the same.
-Resin tends to yellow over time especially when exposed to UV light.
-The process of casting resin naturally creates bubbles. While I will try my best to keep the bubbles to a minimum please remember each piece is handmade so some bubbles are inevitable.
I cannot offer a refund after the piece(s) are complete, however if you are unhappy with the outcome please reach out and we will make it right!
